Ingredients
1 lb Ground Beef
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 cup Mushrooms, sliced
1 large Onion, chopped
2 cloves Garlic, minced
1 cup Beef Broth
1 cup Sour Cream
1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
2 tsp Dijon Mustard
Salt and Pepper, to taste
1 tbsp Flour (for thickening)
12 oz Egg Noodles
Fresh Parsley, chopped, for garnish
Directions
- Cook the Noodles: Start by cooking the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Brown the Ground Beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Remove excess grease, then season with salt and pepper. Set beef aside.
- Sauté Mushrooms & Onions: In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed. Add sliced mushrooms and chopped onions, cooking until softened and golden, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Make the Sauce: Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and onions, stirring well. Slowly pour in beef broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook until the sauce begins to thicken.
- Add Flavors: Stir in Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard, mixing until fully incorporated.
- Combine Beef & Sauce: Return the cooked ground beef to the skillet. Mix well, then reduce heat to low and stir in sour cream for a rich, creamy sauce. Cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing flavors to meld together.
- Serve Over Noodles: Spoon the beef and mushroom mixture over a plate of warm egg noodles. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and enjoy!
PRO-TIPS:
- Adjust the consistency by adding more broth if you prefer a thinner sauce!
